I don't own ETC too but i just put all of funds in ethereum instead of ETC.
Forks are relatively better because its market price will relative could have a huge market price increase than its platform. As we all know that if the main platform increases then so does it will happen to its fork but fork has the possibility to increase more depending on its community who supported the project.
