there are few people like you who makes money during bear market because some people are afraid to do some move during this time. I tried personally to do some short trading and the result is good for me though the profit is small, at least I make profit.
Making money in a bear market is not actually a hard thing to achieve, it is just a matter of discipline, which generally a lot of people who are trying to trade newly do not have that, and most times, they just let their emotions rule them. You can get to have some level of emotion and patience in a bull market and get away with it, but not in a bear market, which is why it is always hard for a lot of people to be able to trade such markets as the case may be. In a bear market, you obviously are not looking for big gains, just some short correction upward in most cases and that is it.
I would even say that only good Risk Managers will be happy during the bear market. The technical side is important but most important is your risk management for the long-term sustainability of your portfolio.

As long as you do not have some certain knowledge, most especially when it comes to risk and money management in trading, as well as some pretty good bear market strategies with a very well principled nature, trading a bear market is something you really would not want to even be delving into. The risk is always going to be huge with a bear market, when compared to a bull market, so in that case, you really want knowledge to be driving you in your decision making and not just emotions, which is why a lot of people tend to flop badly in this case.
