Wences Casares, CEO of Xapo cryptocurrency wallet and a member of the board of directors of PayPal, made a forecast about the cost of bitcoin in the next decade at the conference Consensus 2017, held recently in New York.

In his speech, Kazares noted that “the Internet does not have its own currency and it desperately needs it,” meaning bitcoin under this currency.

“The biggest mistake will be to buy more cryptocurrencies than you can afford to lose. It will also be a huge mistake not to buy Bitcoin at all, ”he told the audience. “Put 1% of your fortune in bitcoins and forget about it for 10 years.”

His speech also included a forecast of the cost of Bitcoin, namely, that it will reach $ 1 million in less than 10 years.

Kazares has been a technical business for a long time. As the founder of the first internet provider in Argentina, he became one of the earliest adherents of Bitcoin. Before creating the Xapo cryptocurrency wallet, he founded a retail bank in Brazil. In early 2016, Kazares joined the PayPal board of directors, and the company in turn called it “the recognized leader in the field of cryptocurrency payments”.
