It will probably do both. The thing is to remain calm. Don't get over excited like last year. And don't get too upset when it goes down. Because, you know what? Eventually it stablilizes.
In fact anything can happen in future, I think that we can see another sudden increase in bitcoin price, but I think that this time it will take some more time, because still the bitcoin price is trading below 10000$ and I think that it will take a lot of time when bitcoin price will reach to 20k.
