Recently I have observed that for every pump or increase in price of bitcoin, there is no corresponding increase in the price of altcoins
Even though this causes a lot of people to worry, it is best as it prepares altcoins for self dependence and it also limits manipulation of altcoins
Soon enough both bitcoin and altcoins will be non dependent on one another totally
There is sometimes a resultant effect of the increase of fall of bitcoin on altcoins in generally. Although, there are times the effect might nit be so obvious, most especially when the percentage increase or decrease is bitcoin price is lesser.
In the case of what happened sometimes this month, when there was a plunge in the price of bitcoin of about $300 within few minutes, such would have significant effect on the price of so many altcoins.
