Crypto is a relatively new technology that's why it is given less attention than traditional disciplines like the above mentioned banking.
I would suggest giving the basics of blockchain and cryptocurrencies within the scope of computer literacy course, and if there are students highly interested in it make the advanced crypto-related course.

Well my friend, bitcoin has been around since 2009 therefore it's not really that new and technology in the more advanced society progresses in a much faster rate as based on the Law of Accelerating Returns. Unfortunately, it does not seem to be the case for cryptocurrencies and I really don't know why.
But we need to be ready as technology will accelerate even more as the years go by and we are not. Humans are so used to short term plans and quick fix.
