You operate at the lowest cost you can and create scale at thin margins. I am a full time "miner". I do my own build outs. All set up and infrastructure. I wire my own electric and only use 3rd party hires for complicated network issues and pulling power to my Breaker boxes. Everything else I do myself. It's called "bootstrapping".
