Peer-to-peer or "P2P" transactions are transactions whereas you transact without a middleman(e.g. Coinbase, other exchanges). So you pretty much have two conflicting statements there, just to let you know.
Also, why not? Exchanges with peer to peer options like LocalBitcoins[1] is also a good place to buy bitcoin, regardless if you're new to the cryptocurrency space or not.
