X16r has been chosen instead of the neoscrypt algorithm in an attempt to prevent any asic creation for it, we have ready for use but not released RoseQ that as well prevents against quantum computing.
Neoscrypt has a publicly available asic since September last this year.

If you're referring to bittech asic isn't it clear by now that it was a scam ?
Anyway X16R is probably a better algo than NS overall, if only for power consumption.
