This will not happen again if coin will gain few millions of marketcap, diff will go up significantly and attacks will be more expensive. Now when XMC/XMO both are dead and abandoned and broken there is a chance for this coin to become a new home for cryptonight ASICs.
In order to gain market cap devs must burn some of their premine and put the rest into an escrow account or at least put it on few addresses and publish view keys from it.

Not a FUD. Just simple math here. Look at Stellite, 0.6% premie, 21,000,000,000 total, so premine is 126,000,000 * 9 satoshis.
Plura's premine is 100,000,000 * 9 satoshis. Supply is 21x less that Stellite. Both are trading at the same price. I hold some for fun mostly. Hoping for a price bump because Bytecoin is totally dead and some money from it could pour into other CryptoNote forks.
If they will listen to my proposal and introduce a transparent premine schedule spending on "development" it can go its "fair" > 100 satoshis target.
The only reason why it's suffering currently it's a relatively low price, it makes attacks less expensive.
