in my humble opinion ethereum is so special not only because he is already the king of icos but also because the huge support from the ethereum alliance, community and developers 
It has everything to make a good coin: community support, great developers teams, investors, good compatibility, great platform for ICOs. I think this is the best altcoin in the market.
