Zerocoin is one of the most vetted privacy protocols available, and is alot more plausible to have an efficient trustless setup created for than zk-snarks.


Another major drawback of zk-snarks is that the supply becomes unauditable, which is a risk we don't find worth taking, especially when you consider many major privacy coins such as Monero had exploits found that could create coins out of thin air.
