Id say Virtual and augmented reality are the most innovative. According to recent news, Facebook and Huawei will be coming out with their own augmented reality glasses. I mean if those huge companies are making huge investments on it, it must be the technology has lots of potential, right?
I've been waiting for VR to be a thing for about two decades now and all I've got so far are crap or "proof of concept" glorified tech demos. Even with all their money, Facebook's Oculus is nothing but disappointment pie. The FOV is too narrow and the resolution too poor for mass adoption. Not to mention that the system requirements basically make it a hobby for the tech elite.
I'd give it at least another decade before I take VR seriously
