The number of altcoins is very much at the moment and it is impossible for everyone to know one by one. I agree, and I think this is one of the setbacks with cryptocurrency. There's just so many coins that keeps popping out that, while some really do serve a purpose (for a legit project or whatnot), you just can't help but be suspicious because you've never heard of it. I think you nailed it. If OP is interested in investing in this Virie, he better do thorough research as to what it is and who's behind it. I think in this case, that Virie is at a disadvantage for now because if what Luke_Turner said was true, it hasn't been launched yet. That would really make it sound suspicious imo.
