People are still behind bars for selling weed but you can buy cigarettes and alcohol which have much more detrimental affects on health. You can also legally buy prescription drugs which also get you addicted and destroy your body.

Everyone should have the ability to buy whatever they want (because they'll find a way whether or not it's legal) and bitcoin represents consumer freedom in many ways.

The problem is there aren't more applications to buy standard goods in cryptocurrency, which is why decentralized marketplaces such as Origami, Daconomy and Virie will allow for more concrete use and will hopefully change this.
