That has been done already for the only sha3 coins in existence so far. But the creators of maxcoin have said that in the way they use it, it's not compatible for mining their coin so there is something that has to be changed to make it work. And you won't know what exactly until you see the maxcoin source code which you can't see yet. So... what the hell are you talking about?
