I believe this is because of many adoptations from companies and businesses resulting to a more market capitalization than the ethereum. This shows that competition on market cap isn't over at all even we are experiencing a consecutive market decline. XRP and ETH gap on market cap is about $2 billion, but i guess there is nothing bad for ethereum because of that.
