Why Futurecoin?
Futurecoin is a derivative of NXT with several different defining features from the get-go including its distribution (see below). We are not focused as much on being revolutionary as we are in taking all of the best, working features of other digital currencies and implementing them into our currency (not limited to NXT development).

Cryptocurrencies are the future and will continue to take off. The only question is, are you going to be part of an obsolete/uncared about clone currency, or are you going to own one of the currencies pressing the envelope of the most innovative technologies released?

Distribution Details:

There will be 21 Billion coins total exactly 1000x the total amount of Bitcoin that will ever be released.
Futurecoin functions by Proof of Stake.

99% of the coins will be distributed to pre-announcement investors based on how much you contribute during the investment period.
1% of the coins will be held for long-term development, bounties, etc.

Investor contributions must be .05 BTC or greater. Deposits less than this will be considered donations.
Limit of 100 BTC per person/entity to prevent hoarding.

We have implemented a .05 BTC minimum because we want to ensure a smooth launch, and in that we would rather have fewer but more sizable initial investors than a horde of tiny investors which could detract our attention away from more pressing matters. If you want to invest less just wait until after the release. Not to mention, .05 BTC is less than $50 as of today, which is a pretty minimal investment in practically anything in which you seek a noteworthy return.

There will be 5 stages of investing:
The first 10 pages (in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=439296.0) receive their share at a 400% multiple of their investment (ie: 1 Bitcoin has the weight of 4 Bitcoins)
Next 20 pages receive 300%
Next 30 pages 200%
Next 40 pages 150%
All pages after will be at 100%

For example: If you invest 1 Bitcoin in the first stage (in the first 10 pages), and a total of 500-weighted Bitcoins are invested over the 5 stages, your 1 Bitcoin has a weight of 4 Bitcoins, so you would receive .8% of the total supply of FTR released on launch day(of which 99% of the coins will be released to investors with 1% held for development).
We have designed the currency distribution this way so that the earliest & most loyal investors are rewarded with the greatest share. You can invest multiple times during the investment period but we strongly encourage you to invest as much as you can as early as possible to maximize your share.

The founders investing period will have an end date 1 month after the pre-announcement posting (Feb. 28, 2014) after which the coins will be distributed and v1.0 will be released. (We may end the investing period earlier or later depending on the volume of investment).
