Of course, you own the final decision to whatever step you intend to make. But the "give up" shouldn't be so quick like this. ICOs are good avenues of making money from crypto although i believe there have been instances where your investment in some ICOs yield apparently nothing. It is normal to most beginners in crypto. Not all ICOs are worthless, it takes thorough research to come across good ICOs. I can attest to the fact that i have invested in a couple of ICOs and about 80% yielded more than 100% after listing on the market which catered for my 20% losses in other ICOs.
