You guys need to understand how Cryptsy works. If someone buys @ 500, an order at 300 will not execute before the ones below that are sold.
so it reached 500 without going through my orders @ 230, 300, and 400?
The trade price never reached that 556, it was just a *single* buy order that someone (probably a bot or a manipulator) put in and it was filled with the lowest sell order. However that seller *did* get the 556 per Doge for that order, since Cryptsy always gives you the best (highest) price.
Since Cryptsy has a minimum sell amount of 100 Doge, it is very likely that this 556 price was for a minimum order of 100 Doge, so it is still only 0.000556 BTC (approx half dollar).
Or maybe someone made a bet "I can manipulate Doge price above 500, I bet for $20". And so he won $19.50
If you know how Cryptsy works, things become easier to understand when you see these peaks.
I am not too sure how there can be peaks in the dowward direction - apparently sometimes Cryptsy also executes orders that a for example selling at 100 and it shows, which is weird because there are always Buy orders for much higher.
