Earth is not flat. Earth is bowl shaped. This is why I get progressively more tired as I walk further away from my starting point upwards the slopes of earth-bowl.
Even Batwoman admits that the earth is sorta bowl shaped. She says that the horizon rises to meet the eye. What better way for that to happen than a bowl-shaped earth, right? And we're in the bowl, right?

The Bible is partly a history writing. When you write history, you write all kinds of things that people do and say. Just because these people do and say them, doesn't mean that they are the norm, or the thing that is really real, or even that the author of the history writing is saying that they are real. The author is merely recording the history of what some other people did and said.
For example. Just because David committed adultery with Bathsheba, and had her husband, Uriah, murdered, this is no implication that anybody should do this. You need to read the Bible slowly, to see if what it says is simply history of the doings of people, or if it is instruction about the way things exist, or about how we are supposed to live.

The point is, the Bible is not meant to be a modern science book. It is meant to be a record from God regarding how He has set salvation in place for us, through His Son Jesus. Using the Bible as a modern science book will mix you up every time.
