Õpet's distributed ledger will be built with Hyperledger Fabric. Hyperledger Fabric is an open source permissioned blockchain platform for industry-level enterprises that features a modular structure, high levels of confidentiality, and easy scalability to support large networks or users.

With a HyperLedger, Õpet will be able to:

- Control who joins the network and validate the identity of a new user, ensuring maximum security. 

- Execute scalable and fast transactions; public blockchain with every single full node required to process transactions often result in unsatisfactory transaction throughput.

- Set access control rules for sensitive user information.
