Regarding a shorter time frame for a new Wagering Competition, I think it's a good idea because mostly players are fighting for the top places during the last day, so why wait so long for the showdown?

I think if there is a casino which are taking a long period of time just to process a withdrawal amount of 0.01 BTC for their customers, maybe it would be better to avoid playing at that casino, 0.01 BTC is a very small amount of money for casino owners, and I guess high rollers would clearly be playing with a few BTC every session, if a casino is truly keen to attract high rollers to play on their site, I believe they would surely want to focus on fulfilling the withdrawal requests of every players as fast as possible.

What do you mean the payment was taking a long period for confirmation? I always get my payment as fast as possible and I never have any problem with their withdrawal and that is more than 0.01 btc. Usually if they have some delay with the withdrawal, it just because the hot wallet is empty so you need to wait them for refilling it back again. With such a low tx fee, they have pretty fast withdrawal process so yeah, it is always fast for me
