Hi all,

Another newbie here. I have been researching about cryptocurrencies for a little while and I am going to buy some coins shortly. I will probably go for Doge, Lite and Feather. When it comes to economics I am useless to be honest..I mean even the money system we have today is crazy to get your head around!

So for me, hording some coins is like having a flutter down the casino, I will only invest what I am willing / can afford to lose. I guess the inner geek just wants to be able to tinker with something too.

Anyway, as there are so may cryptocurrencies out there and Bitcoin is impossible to mine for without crazy budgets (from what I have read) I was wondering if there are ANY altcoins that can be mined with a basic CPU or a GPU? Any coin, I don't care..as long as I can get some and keep them. I am aware they will probably crash and burn but hey, you never know!

Ideally I wanted to use a cheap motherboard and CPU setup to just CPU mine so I don't have to buy a graphics card and to keep it as cheap as possible. From what I have been reading, 'script' coins are easier to mine for? So, going by what I have stated, is it possible and if so which coin(s) could I mine (list in link).
