I say YES for quality ALTs with working teams and good vision. I think Cardano, Stellar are a couple of good ones!

Holding for a couple of years is not a good strategy as most of the altcoins value have dropped to almost zero and developers have left. You may buy altcoins but hold short term and monitor it's price movement.
