Looking back to this post date, ethereum did drop real low, lowest low of the year indeed but can't tell that it's dead, it is still bouncing up and trying to recover as well as other cryptocurrencies. I don't know where'd you get the idea but there are upgrades that is happening with the ethereum network (talking about the Constantinople hard fork) which could be the catalyst for eth to bounce back up in price.
