The essence of the protection has to deal with safeguarding your private key, and there are two basic ways of doing that;
COLD STORAGE: Which is the art of keeping your private key offline; possibly storing it in word, PDF or even in hard copies
HOT STORAGE: More like what you get with the likes of Metamask; etc.
It involves accessing your wallet address with the private keys, on an online platform.
This mode of storage is vulnerable to cyber attacks hence; i'll advice you stick with cold storage for your main account, and transfer other coins stored online to the ones offline; for your own safety.
