I wholeheartedly agree because I actively browse the "Bitcoin Discussion" and "Announcements" boards, often checking out what the latest gossip is on Bitcoin or researching what the latest projects are and whatnot. I usually see a lot of meaningless posts spammed containing single sentence responses like, "project will go straight to moon" or "which ico do I throw money at to earn lambo fast?". Enough shit posts like that can instantly ruin a thread or projects legitimacy and potential.
bitcoin discussion can definitely be an eyesore. i'm not really sure what the moderation policies are (nor what the ideal solution is). it seems like the endless spam threads are allowed to continue indefinitely. but the strange thing is, i've noticed that newer threads (about bitcoin) with active discussions are often deleted by moderators. i can't figure out why. i don't really understand what moderators are trying to accomplish.
i'd love to bring back the
bitcoin discussion of 2015 and 2016 when we used to have great debates about scaling and economic design but the whole situation is pretty discouraging.
