So this is just an individual developers? What about somebig serious companies and publoshers like Electronic Arts, Ubisoft etc?

I do not want to burst your bubble, but I am pretty sure they would rather create their own platform than use someone else's platform. Just like they do with game distribution platforms, building their own after starting on Steam.

Yes, platforms are like networks. If you attract enough users you win big. This is why everyone wants to have their own but there will be very few winners when the dust settles.

You cant expect big players to play by your rules but if this grows big enough, some big company might buy it and use and develop it by themselves which would also mean a huge chance for a profit later on.
