I will either choose BTC or ETH, but my choice right from time, has been ethereum.  It has got a very large community, which means it has the propensity to always survive. So, no matter how much it dumps, it will surely rise. Another important reason is the smart contract. It is the coin that has and us hosting most and very large number of ICOs on its platform.
