Yes, this is very true.  In a way, I hope that never changes but in other ways I think it's inevitable for more market independence for alt coins at some point.  Probably with more coins getting to more markets and having more of those coins directly liquidate to cash without having to use bitcoin as a gateway will make market independence more feasible.

Perhaps LRM partnership with entities such as LightPay Coin could have a positive effect towards such a goal.
