It's kinda like your avatar. God wanted to savor the flavor of building the universe. But He could hardly wait until it was done. If He could have waited longer, it would have taken Him longer. So, He got as much savory flavor out of building it as He could stand to wait the whole 6 days.
So your god wanted to get it done faster but was unable to? He had to rest in between each creation to make sure he didn't screw up?

EDIT: Vod actually worked harder than God. It is more difficult to bring your lower lip up against your upper teeth than it is to bring the back of your tongue up against the top of your throat. Or is it? You decide. Say God. Then say Vod. Then back again.
