What is the point of arguing with them? Whatever you tell them they will continue with ignorance. Same like religin, there are so many religions and gods and jet people beleve that their god is the only one. But infact religion was used throughout whole history to keep spirit and discipline. (It was important and usefull for kingdoms in the past, nowdays just money scam)
Let people beleve whatever they want to. If someone feels fulfilled with that, great for them. There will always be all different kinds of people and beliefs and that is great, imagine how boring world would be if everyone thought the same.
In this case with flat earth it is ignorat but first before arguing with that you need to step back and look from their perspective, what would make someone think that and on a such a level that there are so many of them.
I would give a short answer by saying: failed education, government issues, influencial people affecting large masses, proffesional trolls (that make use of it) etc. When you combine all of that you get the perfect formula.
