$350 would make it back after a while.
According to The Genesis Block calculator with 50% monthly diff increase it will return about $750 over its lifetime.

I was talking to him when I said he would never recoup investment. Also, what did you have for your conversion rate increase? If it mines less than you would have gotten by buying and holding, you're losing money. Also, diff increase is a lot more than 50% every month.
