It is always difficult to answer such questions because we do not have a crystal ball available. It must be understood, however, that the cryptocurrency market is a market manipulated  by big investors better known under the name of Whales.

The vertiginous fall of the market since early November 2018 is clearly to look for a manipulation of the market by these famous Whales. So the big question now is when will they restart the market once they strengthen their positions at lower prices. Some argue that the Bitcoin will start again in early January 2019 before increasing more and more in the approach of launching futures by the parent company NYSE, the New York Stock Exchange. The new dedicated platform will be called Bakkt.

Nevertheless, nothing is sure. It is therefore impossible to tell you if crypto currency is a good investment for 2019.
