It wouldn't significantly bloat the database or anything, but the userpage would definitely time out. Probably you shouldn't.The BPIP Extension could be modified to replace the current rank with "Banned". BPIP maintains a real time list of banned users.
After thinking this over a bit more: does this mean every forum page would require connecting to BPIP.org up to 20 times? If I understand the current extension correctly, it doesn't require anything from BPIP without clicking the link.
