theymos replied to my PM and said that the thread is OK the way it is.

I'm very happy that you have decided to go straight to the horse and hear it from their mouth. It's not like I have any grounds to argue with what theymos is saying here, so I suppose the only remaining confusion is why my thread and the others like it were ever moved/removed to begin with. I will be giving my thread another shot and attempt to be a bit more conscious of the guidelines and rules surrounding it. I'll bow-out now and allow you to continue running your thread without any impedance. I appreciate going that extra mile and getting clarification for all of us.

The things you mentioned here due to which PMalek went on to theymos directly, was the only reason I knew that such threads are being moved to off-topic. Thanks to theymos for allowing OP and his intentions of helping out others.

What we can do now (an advice):

- Instead of going to create back our own thread knowing that they're going to be moved maybe if admin feels that we're trying to incentivize users by asking them to post and most of them start posting bullshit in lieu of expecting merits for the same, I believe we should help the ongoing threads only by allocating some merits to them only (as if our intentions are not to become self-Hero). Wink

- We can have all of this (like create our own thread) and keep it in off-topic zone only but create a list of all such threads that allow users to earn merits (there are already threads with such lists) and should draw newbies' and other merit-expecting users' attention towards such "list-based" threads. So, if we want to do it and admin is not allowing us to do so, what's the difference in having our threads in off-topic section only when we know we're doing good with a selfless motive?
