You can do caloric deficit diet. Surely you will lose weight.

Go first from three meals a day to two. Learn to like being hungry, since every hour of it is bunches of calories burned.

Then go from two meals a day to two. Very shortly you wil lose quite a bit of weight.

Always enjoy the hunger.

It's really that simple.

I was following you here until you suggested going from 2 meals a day to two?
If you made an error and were simply  implying to eat once a day, I would not recommend that.
