No one is interested in privacy. Having a better probably than bitcoin doesn’t mean that it will do better ,cause there are already coins with far more better privacy but still hasn’t made it to the top of the list. Bitcoin Gold hasn’t been doing well right from the beginning and I don’t even think it will do better , but we shall all see. And when it does better, we can then talk about whether to invest in it or not.

That's certainly true, mate. The need for privacy is not as much as I've thought it would be, since many people don't care about it. This has been proven with Zcash, where a huge majority of transactions were performed via transparent addresses, instead of shielded addresses. Bitcoin Gold being a privacy coin, like most other privacy coins in the market, would need to deliver something innovative to the world or it will fail.

Many coins such as Bitcoin Private, PIVX, Zcoin, and Zcash, provide the same privacy features as Bitcoin Gold. The only difference is that Bitcoin Gold is an ASIC resistant coin, but there are also other altcoins which are resistant to ASICs such as Vertcoin and Ravencoin. Right now, we haven't heard much about BTG probably because it lacks proper marketing/promotion. The dev team needs to provide a well-thought roadmap, following constant developments over time, to give a sense of activity within the cryptocurrency project.

Other than that, BTG may remain as a speculative cryptocurrency (like Dogecoin) in the future. With new cryptocurrencies popping out every day, the future of BTG becomes uncertain. Just my thoughts Grin
