I don't think Uniqueorn wants BC to have control, he wants the features/big guns rolled out as soon as possible.
He wants the opposite of what you said - more control not less.
Well, we have 2 options:
1. Take current version of Nxt and keep develop it in our own way, without changes added by BCNext
2. Wait for 2nd and 3rd parts of BCNext's plan, read them and decide if we need to follow them. If we don't then see point 1.
In any case we lose nothing. Nxt already has more features than Bitcoin.
I choose 2.
Because developing takes a lot of time and when we finish the client and all other features we can listen to the second and third plan in the mean time.
We have still much work to do.
