I'm not certain but I think it was indeed theymos who mentioned it in some other thread (BCH?) and piqued my interest.

It feels a bit weird to see a bunch of old-timers in a new alt thread... those tend to be dominated by bump bots and penny spammers these days. I know that's a cheesy and superficial observation but to me that shows a certain degree of street-cred . Which is worth like $0.00 or thereabouts but it makes me feel good mining it with GPUs that would otherwise barely break even anyway.
