So basically merit is not worth more than posts. I still don't understand one thing, did I see a thread earlier that said "I bought 10 merit, will give to different high-quality posts", can you actually buy merit and if so what is the point then?
Basically, the merit system was created to reduce
Spam and Low-quality posts, and also to improve post quality to be better
rank up won't be easy than before, You will be proud if you have ranked up with your effort (good poster) without buying merits
