Bitcoin is popular for two different reasons, the first one is because it is the mother of all crypto and it started crypto and MOST people admires its capability to work as a decentralized. The second one is because the government is seeing bitcoin as a threat and is really threaten by it due to its influence to the majority of the population and their fiat currency is being boycotted by the people and it fvcking hurts them. Government is mad because they are losing their ability to manipulate people because obviously people have woken up and is ready to do what they wanted to do
