OMG that's the silliest idea I've ever heard in the entirety of this space. Why, for the love of crypto, would you suggest forcibly taking funds from people and giving them to some random delusional psycopath that has done nothing for PIRATE (or pretty much anyone except himself in over a decade)?


If you can't see the PR opportunity in McAfee using and therefore promoting PIRATE as money, then no amount of explaining is gonna change that. Consider the 'donation' as a payment for his promotional services, and take a chill pill.
  • Donations are something that is voluntary, by definition; so, it's total fallacy to call it that.
  • Charles Manson was "famous" too and were he still alive, I wouldn't support him as a "spokesman" either.
  • There is no part of me that will ever "take a chill pill" on the topic of taking what are supposed to be immutable transactions away from people and giving them away on a whim, much less to some random internet "celebrity" whose only useful feature is being known for being known.
