That was the year the global market crashed and taking away
the dreams of many people, the financial crisis has taken the entire world by storm and there is nothing you could do about it and many lost their jobs, i had some close friends in US who started driving taxis for a living as they have lost their job and the situation around the world was massive, i really lost a lot of money in stock market at that time and that is the year when the legendary white paper came out.
I think it make some sense, everyone was used to be working for dream prior to the crisis, Im not sure what is that dream they all working for, retirement? Flying car? Fly to the moon? I think they used to be working for space travel. And thats real many people loss their jobs and they need to find job eagerly, most likely they dont have saving at all or want to make more money to save themselves? and I found many properties getting foreclosure, some huge constructions project halted, and people are lining up the mental clinic, I think many suffered from mental health? If you ask me whether I had that dream, I dont have that dream, all I care about is waking up everyday and go to work to feed myself, and it is the same for all my peers too, we never talk about some kind of dream.
