Regarding microwallet services... We switched to FaucetHub because we were repeatedly asked for it, and it appeared to be the easiest way to fix the problem. Of course a third party introduces a risk, but it is adequate to the involved amounts. Keeping money at a-ads account is risky too, so we prefer to get rid of them as soon as possible
So we let our clients to decide whether they want to withdraw their funds to a third party or to their bitcoin address directly, and which withdrawal threshold they deem desirable. If / when bitcoin fees become high again, we may indeed be forced to switch to weekly payouts. Hopefully we implement LN support before it happens.
