As an average poster I can testify that the merit system truly  works, average posters can rank up too.  It isn't a must to be a merit analysis or DT specialist to recieve merits. As far you're adding value to the forum the little ways you can, you'll start receiving your rewards the moment you get noticed, so don't stop.
