Before bitcoin hit ATHs it was $7000 as I remembered but it was already 2017 that year at the middle of year then it was slowly hitting ATHs until Dec 2017. 2018 was not really a good year for bitcoin but I can say it still has a good value. Unfortunately, most of us buy bitcoin during it was $19k, so they end up losing some of their capital.
