What is CryptoBridge?

CryptoBridge is a decentralized exchange and utilizes a high performance, scalable blockchain. 50% of all trading revenue is distributed to BridgeCoin owners. BridgeCoin is a scrypt-compatible coin that was created in July 2017 in order to finance the development of the decentralized exchange.

Built on the Bitshares (BTS) platform, CryptoBridge’s orderbook, trades and accounts are informed by the principles of decentralization. CryptoBridge can be accessed by anyone with internet access 24/7. Trading never stops.

Full description

We provide access to established cryptocurrencies while also allowing you to discover and trade up-and-coming tokens and altcoins in a variety of different trading pairs.

The blockchain behind CryptoBridge, Graphene, can process up to one hundred thousand transactions per second and has an average confirmation time of just 3 seconds. CryptoBridge has over 12 dedicated nodes and the network is steadily growing. Combined with the graphene blockchain, this produces a lightning-quick and seamless trading experience.

CryptoBridge's target audience are altcoin traders who are weary of centralized cryptocurrency exchanges: riddled with performance problems, subject to thefts, manipulation, hacking incidents and government takedowns. Access to CryptoBridge is permissionless and no KYC is required.

All deposits, withdrawals and all order books are transparently stored on the blockchain. The client will still be able to trade coins even in the event CryptoBridge goes out of business. Each client holds the private keys to their coins. CryptoBridge has no access to the client's funds.

Funding: No ICO - why we created an altcoin instead

To develop a platform like described above, the team chose a unique path: we created an altcoin to fund the development of a software platform: BridgeCoin

Since the latest SEC publication it is certain that any token sale (ICO) that promises future returns can be considered illegal in the US. Though we are not from the US we would still like to stay legal under most jurisdictions and a public mineable cryptocurrency is exempt from such regulation. A fair distribution was guaranteed with the non-premined and no-ICO approach.

The founders of CryptoBridge mined BridgeCoin fairly along with anyone else who wished to. The market value of BridgeCoin was sufficient to finance the initial development of the full application. Since that time, we began to distribute 50% of all trading revenues to BridgeCoin stakers!
