In the end, small games like these can function as a good stresstest for the blockchain. I am sure everyone can remember how Cryptokitties clogged the ETH network. So even if this game doesn't look that impressive on the first glance, it can be great to show people the potential of the Waves smart contracts.
Good thing is after the congestion due to Crypto Kitties, Ethereum network upgraded well to prevent the same issues occur.
Personally, I think networks of all projects need problems sometimes (congestions, for instance) to be upgraded and give users better experience.
